Deedee Alexandre is a native of the Niagara Peninsula. She started painting representational and impressionist abstracts in April 2011. Her work comes alive with colours of resounding yet muted vibrancy. Deedee enjoys exploring textures through brush strokes, directionality of lines, lustre, pattern-pressing, and scraping. Deedee’s subject matter tends to be sourced from her imagination or her photography. In addition, her paintings depict with delightful whimsy the many stops along her journey and therefore include a subliminal intuitive dimension.
She believes that painting has given her the means to meld what is both in her mind and in her heart, giving her insight and peace, and an opportunity to enjoy and grow in the pleasing harmony it provides.
Deedee is a member of the St. Catharines Art Association (SCAA), Fine Arts Society of Milton (FASM), and the Niagara Pumphouse.
